Adele signed with XL Recordings and released her debut album 19 in 2008, which contained the popular songs “Chasing Pavements” and “Hometown Glory.” However, it was with her sophomore album 21 released in 2011 that Adele became a true global superstar. The record included massive hits like “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You,” and “Set Fire to the Rain” and went on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide. Adele swept the 2012 Grammy Awards, winning in all six categories she was nominated in.

After throat surgery in 2011, Adele took some time off before returning with her third studio album 25 in 2015. The record-breaking release included the single “Hello” which resonated strongly with fans. To date, Adele has won 15 Grammy Awards and an Oscar. She is one of the best-selling artists ever, having sold over 120 million records globally. Though she has kept an enigmatic public profile, Adele continues to inspire audiences worldwide with her powerful vocals and vulnerable songwriting.
