In a significant loss to Indian cinema, legendary Bollywood actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar passed away today, April 4, 2025, at the age of 87. The celebrated artist, who became synonymous with patriotic cinema in India, breathed his last at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital following health complications.
The Final Chapter: Circumstances of His Passing
Manoj Kumar had been admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025, after his health deteriorated. According to hospital sources, he succumbed to cardiogenic shock resulting from an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), complicated by decompensated liver cirrhosis. The end came in the early hours of today, around 4:03 AM.
His son Kunal confirmed that the veteran actor had been bedridden for several years before his hospitalization. The final rites are scheduled for tomorrow, April 5, with cremation set to take place at Pawan Hans. The procession will leave the hospital at 9 AM, arrive at his residence by 10 AM, with the cremation ceremony beginning at 11 AM.
