Citadel Review: Priyanka Chopra is an Absolute Treat to Watch, though the Show is an Average Watch
Amazon Prime Video’s Citadel is a top-notch franchise that invites worldwide viewers. A grossly superfluous budget is used to show thrills, romance, and adventure. But what grabs your attention is Priyanka taking part in some intense, jaw-dropping, and spectacular action. Priyanka Chopra is an absolute treat to watch, although the show is an average watch. Its execution severely lacks refinement and cohesion, with scenes flitting from city to city at almost any time to engage viewers in these characters. Scroll down for a detailed verdict:
Storyline
Citadel, a worldwide spy agency, is on the verge of its survival as the Manticore (the bad guys) violently demolishes its foundations. Nadia Sinh (Priyanka) and Mason Kane (Richard) are two officers who must be called to preserve the last traces of the Citadel. However, the battle is far vast than one could have anticipated.
Citadel Review
The Russo Brothers’ spy thriller ‘Citadel,’ featuring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, was released online on Friday following nearly a month of buzz. The initial two episodes of the show, released accessible for this review, focus on delivering a taste of the thrills, explosions, and mysteries to come in the series. Overall, the series is neither outstanding nor awful; it seems to be settling into an enticing balance.
Citadel Star Cast and Performances
Richard Madden elegantly portrays Mason. His rapport with Priyanka is intriguing since it leads to a fascinating storyline between the two on the show. On the other hand, Priyanka draws on her several decades of expertise as the star of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters (some of her stunning expressions and graceful actions have a Roma from Don vibe). However, Stanley Tucci, who portrays the Citadel handler and tech wizard Bernard Orlick, would be the show’s stealer. Even the most ordinary dialogues appear to ooze with the plot when he uses his talents. Lesley Manville, who portrays the part of Manticore’s broker, is a fascinating inclusion to this cast.

Citadel’s Selling Points
Priyanka Chopra is an absolute treat to watch, hear, and see as she delivers intense action scenes or talks with the sensual tone of a siren. Citadel has all the ingredients for a compelling thriller. The most enjoyable aspect of this show—which contains some incredible action and exquisite cinematography—is that it doesn’t expect viewers can comprehend the past by paying attention to the present.
Citadel’s Weak Point
Everything appears to be acceptable in parts: from the actors’ performances to a relatively basic plot, from polished action choreography to pricey landscapes and settings. However, these elements are never higher than an average score. Citadel, a spy drama similar to others, struggles to find a unique place in the heart in its initial stage.
