Jaya Prada Sentenced to 6 Months Imprisonment with a Fine in Old Case
The Chennai court has handed down a 6-month sentence to actress-turned-politician Jayaprada related to a case involving one of her theaters in Royapettah. Employees at the theater filed a petition against her. In addition, the court has levied a fine of Rs 5,000 against Jayaprada in connection with this case.
A report states that Jaya’s theater was managed by her business partners, Ram Kumar and Raja Babu. Under their supervision, the theater failed to provide its employees with ESI (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation) benefits, prompting all the employees to petition the court.

Jaya started her political career in 1994 with Telugu Desam Party. In 1996, she was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the first time from Andhra Pradesh. After this he joined the Samajwadi Party in 2004. After this she joined the Rashtriya Lok Dal and then later the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Jaya Won Twice from Rampur and Lost Twice
Jayaprada has represented Rampur twice in the Lok Sabha from the Samajwadi Party. She was elected MP from Rampur seat in 2004 and 2009. After this, he again contested from Rampur seat in 2014 and 2019, but she was defeated both times.
