National Film Awards Winners List, ‘Rocketry’ Best Film, Kriti Sanon Share Best Actress Award

 

The 69th National Film Awards were announced on Thursday in New Delhi, recognizing the best talent in Indian cinema from the past year. Winners included actors Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, and Pankaj Tripathi, as well as director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The National Film Awards are India’s most prestigious film honors, given out annually to celebrate achievements in various categories across the country’s film industry.

Pankaj Tripathi, who recently lost his father, responded to winning a National Film Award this year with bittersweet emotions. In a statement, Tripathi shared that this is unfortunately a time of grief and loss for him, and that his late father would have been thrilled and proud if he were still alive.

India’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur offered congratulations to those being honored. By congratulating the recipients early, Thakur acknowledged their achievements in advance of the formal announcement.
