Rishi Kapoor Fondly Remembered on 71st Birth Anniversary by Family, Friends and Fans

Iconic Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor was lovingly remembered on what would have been his 71st birthday today by family, friends and fans. Kapoor passed away in 2020 after a long battle with leukemia.

Daughter and Niece Share Touching Tributes

Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni posted childhood photos on Instagram along with the message, “Happy Birthday Papa. Miss you a little more today.” In another nostalgic post she remarked how she was her father’s “carbon copy.”

Niece Kareena Kapoor Khan also shared a throwback photo with Kapoor, writing “Happy birthday Chintu Uncle…Always in our hearts. Miss you.”

Bollywood Colleagues Pay Their Respects

Several of Kapoor’s Bollywood colleagues also paid tribute on social media. Actor Sanjay Dutt shared a photo with Kapoor and his son Ranbir, calling Kapoor “more than family” and saying “the void he left is palpable, but the warmth of his memory keeps him alive in our hearts.”

Fans Share Appreciation for His Work

Many fans online also shared their appreciation for Kapoor’s vast contribution to Indian cinema over his 50-year career and 145 films. Known for his lively spirit and acting talent, Kapoor starred in classics like Bobby, Chandni, Amar Akbar Anthony and Kapoor & Sons.

Courageously Worked Through Cancer Diagnosis

Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018 and underwent treatment in New York before returning to India in 2019. Showing tremendous courage and dedication, he continued working during his cancer battle though he was unable to complete his final film Sharmaji Namkeen before his demise, the remaining portions were filmed by Paresh Rawal as a tribute to the late actor. He passed away on April 30, 2020 at the age of 67 in Mumbai.

The birthday tributes highlight the profound impact Rishi Kapoor left through both his illustrious career and warm personality. Though his loss is deeply felt, his legacy continues to inspire future generations.
