Selena Gomez To Play Linda Ronstadt in Upcoming Biopic Directed By David O. Russell

A biopic on the life of legendary singer Linda Ronstadt is in development, with Selena Gomez set to play the iconic vocalist and David O. Russell attached to direct. The currently untitled film will chronicle Ronstadt’s groundbreaking career that spanned over five decades and saw her become one of the most successful female artists in history.

Ronstadt’s Prolific Career

Linda Ronstadt was a pioneer in the world of rock, pop and country music. She got her start performing with the folk-rock group The Stone Poneys in the late 1960s before embarking on an astonishingly prolific solo career. Throughout the 1970s, she released hit album after hit album, including classics like *Heart Like A Wheel*, *Hasten Down The Wind* and *Simple Dreams*.

Ronstadt had a unique ability to seamlessly transition between musical genres, finding success with everything from country-rock to new wave pop.
