The Disputed Miss Universe Win
In a separate interview, Rautela made a startling claim that she had won the Miss Universe pageant not once but twice – first in 2012 and then again in 2015. According to her, she had initially won the “I Am She–Miss Universe India” pageant in 2012 at the age of 17. However, due to the age limit of 18 set by the then-owner of Miss Universe, Donald Trump, she was asked to step down by Sushmita Sen, who was overseeing the Indian selection process.
Rautela stated, “When I won Miss Universe India for the first time in 2012, there is an age limit for Miss Universe… Our boss was Donald Trump. The age limit was 18, even I didn’t know that I was 17 after I won. I was 24 days short from the age limit.” She further added, “Sushmita Sen told me that ‘Urvashi, you can’t go…’ At that point, I felt like the biggest loser of my life.”
Undeterred by the setback, Rautela claimed that she auditioned again in 2015 and won the Miss Universe India title, becoming the only woman to achieve this feat twice.
Fans’ Reactions
Rautela’s revelations have sparked a wave of reactions from her fans, with some wholeheartedly supporting her potential political endeavors while others remain skeptical. Regarding her claim of winning Miss Universe twice, some fans expressed disbelief, while others commended her perseverance and determination.
One fan commented, “First youngest Indian Asian woman to get the ticket to enter politics,” while another wrote, “Nooooooooo… Behen aap jaha ho wohi rahoo.” Reactions to her Miss Universe claim ranged from “Best comedian ever” to “I am the only girl who won Miss Universe India twice.”
