Bruce Willis Diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia

Bruce Willis’s family announced that the Hollywood actor had been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) at 67 years old. They shared an emotional statement on Instagram expressing their appreciation for the support they have received and giving an update on Bruce’s condition.

Taking to Instagram they wrote: “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis. In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.”

What is Frontotemporal dementia?

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a group of diseases caused by progressive nerve cell loss in the brain’s frontal and temporal lobes. It is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects behavior, language, and movement. As FTD progresses, symptoms may include changes in behavior or personality, difficulty with language and communication, and changes in muscle or movement.
