Kangana Ranaut Chants ‘Jai Shri Ram’ at Historic Ayodhya Ram Mandir Consecration

Kangana Ranaut was filled with visible excitement and joy as she attended the historic Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on Monday, January 22nd 2024. The Bollywood actress shared videos of herself chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ at the event, which marked the culmination of a decades-long campaign to build a temple for Lord Ram at his believed birthplace.

Kangana Arrives in Ayodhya Days Before Event

Kangana had reached Ayodhya two days prior to the main ceremony. She spent time meeting saints and seers in the holy city, including the renowned spiritual leader Rambhadracharya. On Sunday, Kangana took part in a ritual ‘yagya’ and was seen sweeping the floors of the Hanuman Garhi temple as part of a cleanliness drive. However, she had to cut short her volunteering efforts due to the large crowds that had gathered.

“I wish to motivate people to pick up the broom by participating in this cleanliness drive. The city has been beautified and has a festive look about it going into the inauguration day,” Kangana told reporters about her temple cleaning efforts.

Decked in Traditional Attire for Auspicious Occasion

On the morning of the consecration ceremony, Kangana was dressed in elegant traditional attire – a cream silk sari paired with emeralds and an orange blouse. She posed for pictures outside the decorated Mandir, writing on social media, “This Janmbhoomi belongs to Lord Ram… Jai Shri Ram.”

Kangana also shared a video that captured her visible excitement at the event. In the clip, she can be seen chanting “Jai Shri Ram” loudly among the gathered crowd. “Ram aa gaye [Ram has come],” she wrote alongside the post.

Star-Studded Guest List at Ram Mandir Ceremony

The Bollywood actress was among a number of high-profile dignitaries and celebrities who attended the consecration ceremony on Monday. Other guests included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, veteran stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi, as well as Bollywood names like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit.

International dignitaries were also in attendance, such as Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. Cultural performances were held by acclaimed singers including Sonu Nigam, Anuradha Paudwal and Shankar Mahadevan.

500 Years of ‘Exile’ Ends for Lord Ram

The consecration marked the beginning of a new era for India’s majority Hindu population. After decades of campaigning and legal battles, a new idol of infant Lord Ram was finally installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir, ending the ‘exile’ of Ram Lalla from his revered Janmbhoomi.

The grand temple has been constructed in a traditional Hindu ‘Nagara’ architectural style, adorned with intricate carvings depicting Hindu gods and goddesses. Millions watched the live telecast as Ram Lalla’s idol was ceremonially unveiled at the auspicious muhurat of 12:44 PM on Monday.

For Kangana Ranaut and millions of devotees, the chanting of “Jai Shri Ram” greeted the return of their deity to his rightful home in Ayodhya. The actress expressed the overwhelming joy and optimism felt by many Hindus on this historic day for their faith.
