The movie, which is based on a true story in which the Norwegian Child Welfare service took away an Indian couple’s children under the pretext of poor parenting, has been well received by the government of that nation. The film’s director, Ashima Chibber, has managed this emotional journey delicately, but there are a few areas where she could have some additional explanations for the audience. The direction by Ashima Chibber is adequate. The way Ashima depicted the mother’s suffering will bring tears to the viewers’ eyes. In fact, some people might find it challenging to watch a few scenes.

Rani Mukerji delivers an absolutely stellar performance. She entirely immerses herself in the role, leaving behind the image of a Bollywood star. Jim Sarbh elevates and presents the film with its exquisite moments. His tasteful depiction of an Indian-origin lawyer in Norway catches the soul of this movie. Anirban Bhattacharya delivers a sincere performance as her husband, evoking the disapproval that his character is supposed to. Balaji Gauri, who portrays Debika’s lawyer in Kolkata, is a superb choice. She makes compelling arguments and even provides lighthearted relief to the movie’s tone. Neena Gupta, who portrays a character influenced by late leader Sushma Swaraj’s contribution, also has a good cameo that marks a turning point in the film.

There are many heartfelt moments watch it for Rani Mukerji’s exemplary work. The soul of a gutsy mother is captured in Amit Trivedi’s music. The song “Shubho Shubho” makes you feel sentimental. Despite a few minor flaws, succeeds in winning over viewers’ hearts by showcasing a mother’s resilience and the variation of cultural dimensions.

The children, who are the story’s main characters, are, however, given little attention in a screenplay that is center around a single actor and is only used to highlight Rani’s versatility. In general, the movie doesn’t look good, but it starts to feel right after you give it a chance. The script multiple times makes reference to his obsession with his citizenship application and only highlights Rani Mukerji as a central character. The story itself is upsetting, but the writer’s attempt to exaggerate it even further disappoints.
