Superstar Rajinikanth‘s upcoming film ‘Lal Salaam’ now has a release date. The makers have announced that the Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth directorial will hit screens on Pongal 2024.

‘Lal Salaam’ stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles along with Rajinikanth in an extended cameo appearance. The film marks Aishwaryaa’s return to direction after a gap of 5 years. Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has scored the music for this sports drama.

Story and Theme
As per reports, ‘Lal Salaam’ revolves around friendship and cricket. Rajinikanth plays the character of Moideen Bhai in the film. Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev also has a special cameo appearance, where he plays himself.

Shoot Details
The film went on floors in March 2022 in Chennai. Major portions were shot in Mumbai, Chennai and Pondicherry. Rajinikanth wrapped up shooting for his portions by July 2022. The entire film was wrapped up by August 2022.

Poster Unveil
On October 1st, 2023, the makers unveiled a new poster featuring Rajinikanth. It shows him standing in front of a vintage car on a cricket field. The poster has a red color palette with the text “Lal Salaam to hit screens on Pongal 2024”.

‘Lal Salaam’ will clash at the box office with Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Ayalaan’, Sundar C’s ‘Aranmanai 4’, Arun Vijay’s ‘Vanangaan’ and Jayam Ravi’s ‘Siren’, which are also slated for Pongal 2024 release.
