Rapper Jeezy Files for Divorce from TV Host Wife Jeannie Mai After Less Than 2 Years of Marriage
Atlanta rapper Jeezy has filed for divorce from his wife, TV host Jeannie Mai, after less than two years of marriage. The filing was made in Fulton County Superior Court on Thursday.
Details of the Divorce Filing
According to court documents, Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, and Mai are already separated. The former couple welcomed a daughter together in January 2022. Jeezy is seeking joint legal custody of their child.
Jeezy and Mai married in March 2021 at their Atlanta home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Their wedding came two years after they began dating in 2019.
Mai previously hosted the syndicated talk show “The Real” for eight seasons before its cancellation last year. She met Jeezy when he was a guest on her show.

Surprise Divorce After Recent Public Support
The divorce filing seemingly comes as a surprise, as Mai had posted supportive messages about Jeezy on social media as recently as last month. She was also spotted attending one of his events in Atlanta in early August.
Neither Jeezy nor Mai have publicly commented on the divorce filing yet. This was Mai’s second marriage, after previously divorcing actor Freddy Harteis. Jeezy has three children from previous relationships.
