Tiku Weds Sheru Review: The Slow Pace and Weak Storyline Fails to Engage the Audience

Tiku Weds Sheru, a film produced by Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films and available on Amazon Prime Video, delves into the darker aspects of the Mumbai film industry and sheds light on the challenges faced by individuals marginalized within its realms. However, the slow pace and weak storyline fail to engage the audience, and Nawaz’s portrayal as a romantic lover boy also feels awkward, as he is stereotyped in gangster kind of roles in Bollywood. Keep scrolling for the complete review:

Storyline

The story revolves around Sheru (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a junior artist and film financier in Mumbai, who marries Tasleem, also known as Tiku (portrayed by Avneet Kaur). Tiku is an aspiring actor from Bhopal, driven by the desire to become a superstar. She agrees to marry Sheru solely to access Mumbai and reunite with her boyfriend, Binni (played by Rahoul). However, Tiku’s life takes an unexpected turn, leaving her unprepared for the challenges. Meanwhile, Sheru discovers that he has fallen into a trap, and the film explores how he copes with this revelation and how their love story begins amidst these circumstances.

Tiku Weds Sheru Review

Directed and co-written by Sai Kabir, the movie highlights the harsh realities and struggles on the periphery of this bustling industry. ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ fails to explore its full potential, settling for a predictable narrative rather than delving into a fresh and distinct portrayal of the protagonists’ pursuit of their dreams. The songs lack relevance to the plot and appear forced in their inclusion. Consequently, these factors contribute to the movie’s dullness.

The film fails to deliver a unique perspective and instead opts for a conventional approach that meets the expected conventions.

Tiku Weds Sheru Star cast and Performances

The English-speaking Nawazuddin is a visual delight. His performance in the movie reaffirms his position as one of Bollywood’s finest actors. Avneet Kaur, a debutant, shows great promise with her confident performance, although her expressions need improvement. The supporting cast, including Rahoul, Zakir Hussain, Vipin Sharma, and Mukesh S Bhatt, delivered average performances.

Tiku Weds Sheru’s Selling Point

The film’s background score, sung by Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal, offers temporary relief. On the other hand, Nawaz effortlessly embodies the character of Sheru, captivating the masses with his remarkable acting skills, as he always does. It may only appeal to dedicated fans of Nawazuddin Siddiqui or Avneet Kaur.

Tiku Weds Sheru’s Weak Point

The dialogues in the film are lackluster, with Nawaz delivering most of them. The movie’s excessive use of abusive language detracts from its overall appeal. The greatest setback for ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ lies in Sai Kabir’s direction, which is outright terrible. Instead of comedy, it comes across as a joke, and rather than romance, it resorts to a cheap skin show.
