Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Khufiya’ Trailer Promises Thrilling Spy Story

Mole in RAW Creates Tension
The 2-minute 39-second trailer opens in 2004 at the RAW headquarters in Delhi, where a possible information leak is suspected. “We have a mole in the agency,” says an insider, as Tabu’s character, R&AW agent Krishna Menon, is brought in to investigate. Their suspicion falls on Dev, played by Ali Fazal, and agents begin monitoring his every move, including his wife (Wamiqa Gabbi). As the crisis intensifies, more secrets seem poised to emerge.

‘Khufiya’ marks another collaboration between Tabu and director Vishal Bhardwaj after acclaimed films like ‘Maqbool’ (2003) and ‘Haider’ (2014). During Netflix’s Films Day event, Bhardwaj revealed he flipped the protagonist’s gender from male in the book to female because he found it more exciting to have Tabu in the lead role. “I found a reason to work with Tabu and I got that,” he said.
