Poonam Pandey, here she is again, making headlines and causing This time, it is more than a leaked video or an explicit MMS, this time, she faked her death. The reason? Well, some say it is for publicity but as she said it was for “raising awareness”. But as soon as people got to know it was a fake stunt they started to criticize the actress. This PR stunt didn’t go well with either the netizens or the media personas. So let us take a look at what the matter exactly was and why she had to fake her death.

On the morning of 2nd February 2024, media pages, news channels and Instagram stories of celebrities started to report the sudden death of Poonam Pandey. The news channels stated that the actress passed away at the age of 32 due to cervical cancer. This news spread like wildfire and celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Munawwar Farooqui, etc. started to post on their stories with the caption of ‘may her soul rest in peace’. What else can be more shocking than seeing the person live right after their death’s news? Well, this is how Poonam Pandey surprised us all, by posting a video of herself on her Instagram account stating that she is alive and healthy. Furthermore, she added that it was all a plan for raising awareness about cervical cancer.

As soon as people came across this video they started commenting and criticizing the actress for such a vague way of raising awareness.
If a PR stunt was the only way of getting limelight even in that case Poonam’s way would be criticized, said a user in a comment section following her post in which she declares that she is alive.
Was It Truly an Awareness Campaign?
When the news of the actress’s sudden demise started to spread people were ready with their speculations that the news might be fake. All because they claimed that Poonam was very well active in her recent interviews and was seen enjoying in Goa a few days back. Also, she was very actively engaged on social media during the Ram Mandir discussion. Before Poonam Pandey posted the video a page that belonged to Fork Media Group Co, Hauterrfly posted a video as well. They stated that how this whole propaganda was a part of an awareness campaign against cervical cancer.

Poonam Pandey’s special “awareness” campaign created a lot of chaos on social media and even actors like Aly Goni, Kushal Tandon, etc. slammed the team and actress for this act.
