Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon Reunite, Behind the Mic, for Obsession’s Hindi Version on JioHotstar
Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon are back together, but you won’t see them on screen. The Bhediya co-stars have lent their voices to the Hindi version of the horror film Obsession, which premieres on JioHotstar on October 30, 2026, alongside the original English version.
Who Voices Whom
In the Hindi version, Kriti Sanon voices Nikki, and Varun Dhawan voices Bear, the film’s two leads. Obsession is directed by Curry Barker and described as a twisted romantic horror film. It will stream on JioHotstar’s Peacock Hub, and reports say it will be available in its original, uncut form.

A Reunion, but Not the One Fans Wanted
Dhawan and Sanon have worked together before, in Dilwale (2015) and the horror comedy Bhediya (2022). That history has kept fans hoping for a Bhediya sequel, and this project isn’t it. It is, however, another horror collaboration, which makes it a natural fit for the pair.
What They Said About the Experience
Sanon said she loved the film and its performances, calling it a gripping, quirky and twisted story. She also said she’d never explored a character this edgy before, which made the process both exciting and challenging. According to MissMalini, it’s her first time lending her voice to another actor’s performance.
Dhawan said that working on the Hindi version gave him a chance to see the story from “a completely different perspective.” He also said it let him notice details he might have missed on his first viewing, and that he had a lot of fun voicing the film.
A promotional video from JioHotstar shows the two recreating one of the film’s scenes, which suggests the platform is leaning heavily on their star appeal.

Hindi dubs of English films are common, but casting recognisable actors is a clear strategy. Alok Jain, head of Hindi and English entertainment business at JioStar, said the Hindi version is meant to help the film reach a wider audience in India, and that the platform wants to bring it to Hindi-speaking viewers in voices they know.
