Beloved ‘Friends’ Actor Matthew Perry Dies at 54

Matthew Perry, best known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom ‘Friends,’ has passed away at the age of 54.

According to TMZ, Matthew Perry reportedly experienced a heart-related medical emergency while in a hot tub, which led to him losing consciousness, falling, and drowning. However, officials and his team have not confirmed this. Some sources close to Perry also say there were no signs of criminal activity or drug overdose, which he had dealt with previously. The exact circumstances around Perry’s tragic passing remain unclear and still under Investigation.

Perry rose to fame in the 1990s playing the beloved character Chandler Bing on ‘Friends,’ which aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004. Chandler’s sarcasm and wit made him a fan favorite amongst the close-knit group of friends on the show, which also starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.

Iconic Role on ‘Friends’

‘Friends’ was a massive success and catapulted Perry and the rest of the cast into stardom. The show earned multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards nominations during its 10 season run. Perry himself was nominated for an Emmy in 2002 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance as Chandler.
